Carly and Andrew had chosen the beautiful St Mary’s church in Lydney to have their wedding, and then to spend the evening at Perrygrove Railway in Coleford for their fun filled wedding reception.
I spent the morning covering the bridal preparations with Carly and her bridesmaids. Like most women Carly is a shoe lover, but she is the first bride I’ve met that has not ONE pair of shoes for her big day, but THREE! All based around an Alice in Wonderland theme. Not only that, but she had chosen TWO wedding gowns. One for day and one for evening!
I met the very chilled Andrew and his groomsmen at St Mary’s. It’s such a beautiful church, and it was a glorious late summers day, just perfect. This is the first wedding service I’ve been to where we all had a champagne toast to celebrate after signing the register. It looked stunning as the late afternoon light shone through the stained glass windows.
Carly’s dad VW Camper was ready to take the new Mr and Mrs Cameron off to Perrygrove Railway, where everybody had the chance for train rides and afternoon tea, complete with teacups, scones, jam and cream, and a white rabbit wedding cake. While the guests had fun at the railway, I took the giggling Carly and Andrew and had a ball taking photographs of them in the childrens’ play area.
The speeches took place back at the Perrygrove train station, which was bedecked in fairy lights and red heart balloons. It really looked so pretty, especially as family and friends blew bubbles that caught the light to toast the bride and groom.
As the day started to turn into evening there was a hog roast, a fantastic magic mirror where the guests, ( who were by now enjoying the effects of bubbles of a different kind! ) posed for photographs in funny dress up props. This crowd really loves to party!
Wishing Carly and Andrew a wonderful love filled married life together!
