Jake and Stacey wanted a quiet and very personal wedding in beautiful Pembrokeshire. Little did they know that they had picked the wettest weekend of the Summer. Not only that, but there was a severe weather warning! I travelled up with Jacobs parents and best man the day before, on what was a very miserable day. We must have been soaked by the heavy rain two or three times in just a few hours, and we were all a bit concerned that it would ruin the wedding celebrations.
The following morning there was no respite from the storms and driving rain. As the photographer any hopes, of beautiful shots on the coast were looking unlikely. However somebody must have been looking out for this loved up couple, because about an hour before their wedding was due to start, the sun started to shine.
They had chosen to hold their marriage vows and celebration at the beautiful Nantwen , a converted farm in the incredible Pembrokeshire countryside, not too far from Newport. It was a perfect venue for this small intimate wedding, even the registrar shed a few tears, while Parsnip the farm cat looked on disinterestedly, only stopping to sharpen her claws on the carpet, as she led the way for Jake and Stacey, to follow her down the aisle.
Afterwards there was a lot of laughter over glasses of bubbly in the adjoining cottage, before all heading down to the coast to take photographs on the sand at The Parrog
How lucky we were to get the sunshine, just in time. I managed to get the photographs I wanted, and Jake and Stacey were oblivious to any changes in the weather…which is as it should be i suppose, when you only have eyes for each other!
