Someone falls to pieces

If the rain doesn’t go, pretend you have snow. Longing for some decent light so I can have fun with my new gear. I’m still editing files from weeks ago, when everything seemed a hundred times prettier. Meanwhile in other news, in the space of a week, I’ve had to sort out car issues, we rescued a young pigeon from dying of exposure ( despite the fact I am fed up of the fact his growing family has set up residence under my solar panels, make a terrible mess and keep me awake with their pigeon noises ), came home from an exhausting day in work to find the cat had peed in my wardrobe . Why he doesn’t assist with the pigeon problem is another story. The loo got blocked with the copious amounts of paper I used to clean up the wee, and the u bend under the kitchen sink has become detached from the plug, so water has been pouring into my kitchen cupboards. All of this is somewhat blocking my creativity. Fire and Ice ~ Dad's been all morning, social distancing while sorting out my car in the biting cold, because I couldn't drive to work today. "Bloody 'ell Linda, I haven't been over the door in months, it's freezing!" he said. " I know you love spending time with me Dad" I answered. I knew that’s not the sort of spending time with me he would prefer .... but a lifetime as an electrician and automation technician, means he has more tools than anybody else I know. I drew the line at his idea of cleaning all the Avonmouth dirt off my car though ! I didn’t want us to avoid Covid, and then catch Hypothermia instead . I came home and left him in peace shouting at the rugby. It's not normal all this being apart from family. It's not even new normal. Hmm .. Not sure how I feel about what I’m posting . On the one hand I’ve been having fun with this little weather app, and it does make my shot pretty and seasonal. On the other hand my photographer head doesn’t like the way it’s compressed my image , and altered what was a perfectly adequate still. I’m mightily conflicted. But I’m bored and losing my way and blaming lockdown . Let me have this one. I’m going to give it a week and then I’ll probably delete. Ordinarily I’m not a filter fan . I’m a snow fan though . Those times when we are all transfixed by the sky. Have you ever wondered about it’s latent power over us? A childhood blue with fluff for clouds can heighten a happy day, a brooding iron grey can induce a gloomy feeling , even when all is well with the world. Sometimes it will bestow gifts on creative people, a momentary glimpse of nirvana, but never if you wait. And we wait. We wait and wait. It has power over our weather, benevolent or malevolent, decides if we should starve or be blessed with plenty. It has secrets it will not disclose, though it grants us minuscule grains of knowledge. How wonderful though, to be in the thrall of such an irresolute masterpiece. ************************************.
