Hannah and Rob wanted a relaxed and unhurried wedding day, one that they could really enjoy without feeling they were against the clock. When I arrived at their Caldicot home to take photographs of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready, I knew that they would get their wish. Hannah was the most relaxed bride ever! The ladies were really enjoying their girl time, with a little champagne, and some A star pampering. The sun was shining into the room, and it was going to be a glorious late summer day. Once the Rolls Royce arrived to whisk Hannah and her Dad off, I left to arrive at the lovely rustic Rogiet church before her.
Rob was there with his best man, brother Will, surrounded by laughing guests, and a collection of people who had come to see the beautiful bride’s arrival, all waiting in the blazing sunshine. Father Dennis was on hand to help me find some space in this tiny little country church to capture the wedding ceremony, which quickly filled up with Hannah and Robs’ loved ones. It really made it feel the most calm and intimate wedding.
I think Hannah was overcome with a little emotion, and there were a few happy tears, quickly wiped away with the antics of the bride and grooms lovely little boy Harri , who kept everybody entertained during the service.
There was time for more photographs outside, and a confetti shower that never seemed to end, before we all headed off to Dewstow Golf Club. The sun was casting a golden glow over everybody…guests and golfers alike! It was a truly beautiful wedding, filled with laughter and tears of joy in equal measure!
Will gave the usual hilarious speech. I sometimes feel having a best man who is also your brother adds a lot more humour to the mix and also can give the bride a few stories she may not have heard from the bridegroom’s friends. Rob and Hannah had chosen to have all the speeches and toasts before their meal, which left everybody ready to relax and enjoy themselves all afternoon, and recharge ready for the evening party.
The first dance was Franki Valli’s “You’re just to good to be true, I can’t take my eyes off you”. Very fitting indeed for this gorgeous couple, that I’m so glad asked me to be a part of their special day.
