Lydia and Gavin had very romantically eloped quietly in Cornwall, so they wanted to celebrate their marriage surrounded by their friends and family at Woodlake Park Golf Club, where Gavin is the resident professional. They both wanted a very relaxed affair , concentrating on a photo session of the bride and groom, and then plenty of the guests and events as they progressed through the afternoon. In fact it was so relaxed that Gavin even helped out a little in the golf shop while everybody else was still getting ready!
I have to say, it was a really wonderful event, and the weather was extremely kind. The looks of emotion and surprise on the faces of Lydia and Gavin’s loved ones as they were met at the top of the staircase, by the most beautiful bride and bridegroom was priceless! Lydia’s gown was from Bridal Lane in Usk, and was so elegant, in a delicate blush colour, perfect for a summer wedding. Of course there were plenty of tears too, but of happiness and love!
The tables were named after famous golfers, and decorated with the most fantastic floral arrangements, all the pinks of hydrangeas, and the most glorious peonies, all by Joanne Alderson Flowers. Lots of pretty little finishing touches, of natural wood, added to the lovely summery theme of the day, and there were even games and masks to make for the children who were all a part of this family affair!
It’s always a privilege to be invited and included in a very special day, and when you love a wedding as much as I do, you’ll understand just how much I enjoyed being there. It was truly an absolutely gorgeous celebration of marriage!
