The sun really shone especially for Harri and Blue to have their photographs taken, at their family home in St. Arvans near Chepstow. The morning had started off with torrential rain, and the tail end of a storm. The photo shoot was not looking promising! I’d called ahead to see if there was any available indoor space where we could take the portraits, but then as if by magic the summer came back, and instead of rain we were tackling the brightest of sunshine! I’m sure the wheat field that we used for our equestrian back drop must have been extremely wet, but Harriet being a great model didn’t complain at all. Blue was slightly bored, and managed to cooperate for the most part with the promise of horse treats!
As seems usual for these equestrian photo shoots, there is a lot of hidden participation. This normally comprises of a Mum trying to hide from the camera, and various dogs and other ponies getting in on the action. I don’t mind at all, the more the merrier and the bigger the variety of shots! Nobody escapes!
I thoroughly enjoyed spending the morning with Harri and her beautiful mare Blue. There’s nothing nicer than capturing quiet times of people with their much loved horses. Each new photo session makes me new friends, and friendship only helps to make family images more wonderful.
